Wheat

IS OUR HISTORY

Charting a chronological and geographical order, there are indications that wheat seeds were discovered in approximately 6700 BC, in the East. Also according to reports in the Bible of the Christians, philosophers who lived in 300 BC already wrote about types of wheat in Egypt. As for Latin America, cereal arrived in Mexico in 1519 and in Brazil through the hands of the military and representative of the Portuguese Crown Martim Afonso de Sousa in 1534.

It is one of the oldest history food and the most widespread in the world. It is also the main source of plant-derived calories consumed by man. In fact, you cannot describe any kind of more extensive or more importantly food. Not even your brother, rice. Around the globe, the essential raw material is always a grain. At least half of the cultivated soils of the earth indulges in a cereal gender. Thanks to cereal humanity absorbs about 80% of the calories you need. Wheat provides 2/5 of that pie.

The "invention" of bread is given to Egyptians who, around 4000 B.C, found the wheat from the fermentation process. More than food for the Egyptians, bread or biscuits, molded sometimes with human and animal forms, were offered to the gods or used in rituals. Later, they would take religious status symbol: In the Catholic religion, bread and wine make up the Eucharist, as the Easter, unleavened bread, unleavened, is obligatory presence.

In Europe, wheat cultivation has expanded in the colder regions, such as Russia and Poland. And was from the hands of the Europeans that in the fifteenth century, wheat arrived in the Americas. This farming also expanded in Africa and India. In other parts of the world other cereals were transformed into bread: rice, in Asia, the Americas corn and sorghum in Sub-Saharan Africa. The exchange hunting for diets based on agriculture, mainly cereals, was an important turning point in history.

It was in the barn of this noble cereal that 30 years ago JF Brokerage was born, developed and also became part of this story, leading the commercialization of this cereal in Brazil, both domestically and externally, with the JF Brokerage to make first export of Brazilian wheat, opening doors for the development of a new market that is growing every year. If today the Brazilian wheat and especially the gaucho wheat are already known in over 15 countries, is due to the commitment and leadership of JF Brokerage in agribusiness that this has become the most noble of grain, because it makes a difference.
